This policy explains what Quiet Drawer collects, why, and what you can do about it. We have tried to keep it readable, because a policy nobody can understand protects nobody. If anything is unclear, write to privacy@quietdrawer.com.

Who is responsible

Quiet Drawer is operated by Javier Salgado Ledesma, Mexico. For any privacy matter, contact privacy@quietdrawer.com.

What we collect

We have designed the site to collect as little as possible. In practice there are three cases.

  • Age confirmation: a single first-party cookie recording that you confirmed you are of legal age. It contains no identifier and is not shared. It expires after 30 days.
  • Contact form: your email address, your message, the topic you pick and, if you choose to give it, your name. We use it to answer you and for nothing else.
  • Analytics: aggregate, cookieless measurement of page views and referrers, where enabled. No cookies, no cross-site identifiers and no profiles.

What we do not collect

  • No user accounts, because the site does not have them
  • No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies
  • No third-party advertising or social media tracking scripts
  • No fingerprinting and no attempt to identify individual visitors
  • No sale or rental of personal data to anyone, under any circumstances
  • No special-category data, and we ask you not to include any in a contact message

Cookies

The site sets one first-party cookie, storing your age confirmation. It is strictly necessary for a function you requested and therefore does not require consent. It stores a single flag and no identifier.

We do not use analytics cookies. Our analytics, when enabled, is a self-hosted cookieless system that measures page views in aggregate without storing anything on your device. That is why you are not being shown a consent banner.

If you follow a link to a retailer or manufacturer, that site may set its own cookies, including affiliate tracking cookies. Those are outside our control and are governed by that site's policy.

Affiliate tracking

Outbound commercial links pass through an internal redirect on this site. The redirect looks up the destination and forwards you. We record no personal data in that step and we do not build a profile of who clicked what.

Where an affiliate programme is active, the destination URL may carry a campaign identifier that tells the retailer the visit came from us. That identifier describes the page you came from, not you.

Analytics

Where analytics is enabled, we run a self-hosted, cookieless system on our own infrastructure. It records page paths, referrers, approximate country and device type in aggregate. It does not use cookies, does not store an identifier on your device and cannot follow you to other sites. The data is not shared with any third party, because there is no third party involved.

The contact form

Submissions are delivered to our editorial inbox. We do not store them in a database on this site and we do not add you to a mailing list. Messages are kept only as long as needed to deal with the matter, and then deleted.

We process your message because you asked us to reply to it, which is our legitimate interest and the reason you wrote. Only your email address and message are required; your name is optional.

Please do not include information about your health, sex life or sexual orientation. Data protection law treats it as sensitive, we do not need it to answer, and we are not a medical service. If you send it anyway, we use it only to reply and delete it with the rest of the message. The form refuses messages that contain a payment card number, because we never need one.

The form includes basic anti-spam measures, including a hidden field and a short-term rate limit by IP address. The rate limit is held in memory and is not retained.

Hosting and processors

We use a small number of service providers, each only for the task listed. They process data on our behalf and not for their own purposes.

  • Hostinger: hosts the server that runs this site, which keeps short-term server logs, including IP addresses, for security and reliability
  • Cloudflare: provides the domain name system and forwards email sent to our addresses
  • Resend: sends contact form messages to our inbox
  • Our email inbox provider: stores the messages we receive until we delete them

Some of these providers process data outside your country, including in the United States. Where the law requires it, those transfers rely on the safeguards the providers offer, such as standard contractual clauses. We do not use third-party advertising, marketing automation or profiling services.

Retention

  • Age confirmation cookie: 30 days, on your device only
  • Contact messages: for as long as needed to resolve the matter, then deleted. Our sending provider keeps a short delivery record under its own retention policy
  • Server logs: short-term, for security and diagnostics
  • Aggregate analytics: retained in aggregate form, with no personal data

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and to receive a copy of it. Because we hold so little, most requests concern contact form messages.

Write to privacy@quietdrawer.com. We will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

This site is intended for adults of legal age in their jurisdiction and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we will update the date at the top of the page. Substantive changes will be summarised here rather than made silently.
